Ordinary Membership

Ordinary Member - is someone who can actively participate in the direction of HELPSTOP, voting etc. abides by our charters, has to agree to the constitution and other policies and pays the yearly membership fee of $1040.  Our constitution outlines an ordinary member's rights to vote and participate in general meetings, however there are additional benefits which include newsletters/blog updates on our continued evolution and positions/opportunities to directly participate in specialised areas of the charity. There is an application form below as ordinary memberships need to be approved by the Board

Community Membership

Community Member means an individual who is not a Director or Ordinary Member, is in good standing, and is appointed by the Board to a Board standing Committee, or as a volunteer but only for so long as such individual is serving on such Committee or particular purpose undertaken; They need to acknowledge the constitution and other policies, particularly the privacy policy.  Everybody has at least one thing they are good at or would like to get better at and we endeavour to match the needs of our members and volunteers to areas that best suit all parties e.g. marketing, HR, procurement, grant writing. There is a small yearly membership fee of $104, equivalent to $2 per week, however they do need to be approved by the Board.

Volunteer Membership

Volunteer - is a person who freely offers to take part in an enterprise or undertake a task, without being paid. HelpStop is always in need of volunteers and they do not need to be approved by the Board. Volunteering can take many forms, answering the phone (training is provided), manning community engagement stands, bookkeeping, CRM management, Media management - it is a long list and we endeavour to place you in an area of your expertise or somewhere you want to expand your knowledge and experience.

Befriender

Befriender - is a volunteer that gives their time and energy to a person in need. This may include speaking via phone or in person or visit them particularly if they are experiencing isolation due to removing themselves from their previous gambling socialising environments. Befrienders may become emotionally involved, however they always need to abide by our privacy policy.

Ambassador

Ambassador - someone that shares HelpStop’s mission using our platforms, whether that’s in person or online, as a representative for HelpStop. There are no associated fees with this level of commitment however they will need to be approved by the Board and work with the Marketing team. Training will be provided where appropriate.

Patron

A Patron - provides some sort of benefit to our organisation through their association with HelpStop. They must have a high profile in some way, and through their position can help raise the profile of HelpStop which can be in the form of monetary contribution and/or time and experience. This may include attending special charity events and providing media releases. They will need to be approved by the Board.
